Addressing key infrastructure needs through the delivery of an essential road upgrade.
The Wollombi Road Upgrade Project involves upgrading a 2.9 km section of road between Abbotsford Street, Bellbird, and West Avenue, Cessnock. The upgrade will facilitate two lanes in each direction, improving traffic flow and road capacity. The project addresses key infrastructure needs, including road widening, drainage improvements, intersection signalisation, and utility relocations.
Engenicom has been engaged to provide multiple project management resources to Cessnock City Council for the Wollombi Road Upgrade. Our responsibilities encompass project design, coordination, and construction delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Traffic modelling and analysis to improve road network performance.
- Managing the TfNSW WAD process for six signalised intersections.
- Coordinating $10+ million in Hunter Water funded works, including a trunk main and existing mains consolidation.
- Overseeing preliminary and detailed engineering design phases.
- Leading Value Management and Value Engineering processes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Managing the tendering and procurement process, including running an Expression of Interest (EOI) phase and overseeing construction tendering under GC21 contract terms.
- Acting as the Principal’s Authorised Person during construction.
- Grant funding submissions and reporting.
- Cost management and forecasting.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks related to traffic, utilities, and community impacts.
