Providing strategic leadership in disaster recovery for large-scale infrastructure restoration.

Lismore and large parts of Northern NSW and Southern Queensland were severely impacted by unprecedented flooding events in February and March 2022. These devastating floods resulted in loss of life, extensive damage to homes and businesses, and significant destruction of critical infrastructure. In response, Lismore City Council established the Flood Restoration Portfolio to coordinate and prioritise the reconstruction efforts across the Lismore Local Government Area.

Engenicom was engaged as the Director of the Flood Restoration Portfolio, leading a high-performing team in providing governance, strategic leadership, and project controls to ensure compliance with government protocols and requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and coordination across multiple specialist teams delivering infrastructure restoration projects ranging in value up to $60M, with a total portfolio value exceeding $1B.
  • Managing complex, sensitive, and high-risk project elements to optimise restoration outcomes.
  • Developing robust project and program delivery frameworks, governance structures, and methodologies to ensure compliant, high-quality outcomes.
  • Engaging with and influencing executive-level stakeholders and government agencies to drive the successful delivery of large flood restoration infrastructure projects.
  • Advising the Chief Operating Officer with strategic, evidence-based recommendations to inform key government decisions.

Engenicom is at the forefront of this critical disaster recovery initiative, providing expertise in funding coordination, governance, and strategic project execution to restore and rebuild essential infrastructure for the Lismore community.
