Delivering positive impact to the community through the ocean pool project in Port Macquarie.

The Port Macquarie Ocean Pool is the first new ocean pool constructed in Australia in over 50 years. Designed to provide recreational, health, and wellness benefits, the pool will offer universal access for all, including children, older adults, and people with disabilities. The project also aims to improve safety and ease of maintenance compared to traditional ocean pools.

Engenicom is engaged by the Port Macquarie Tidal Pool Committee Inc. to provide project management services, guiding the project from inception to construction and final completion. The project presents unique challenges, particularly in navigating complex planning approvals and Native Title requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the full project lifecycle, from design and planning to construction and commissioning.
• Stakeholder management, including coordination with consent authorities such as Port Macquarie Hastings Council, Crown Lands, DPIE, and Fisheries.
• Consultation with the Birpai Traditional Owners Indigenous Corporation.
• Conducting social impact surveys and assessments.
• Managing cost, program, risk, scope, and quality.
• Overseeing design and site management.
• Navigating planning approvals, including Native Title requirements.
